The Ministers of Justice Conference has drawn to a close.
Submissions were made by [nation]Gervase[/nation], Minister of Justice for the [region]Democratic Socialist Assembly[/region] and [nation]Jenlom[/nation], the Versutian Federation Minister of Justice. Two other Ministers of Justice from the [region]Social Liberal Union[/region] and [region]Union of Democratic Leftist States[/region] were unable to attend.
Much of the focus of the conference centered on proposals for greater co-operation between the government of the DSA and the Versutian Federation in matters of justice, particularly as part of wider negotiations for an interregional alliance.
Among other suggestions, Minsters recommended a system of closed cases comprising a "persuasive precedent" mechanism - pooling legal precedent and knowledge and rendering cases easier to decide.
Proposals also include justices being able to request informal opinions on open and closed cases from other justices in regions party to the interregional organisation.
